The Fund for Haywood County seeks to improve the quality of life in Haywood County by supporting projects that benefit its communities and residents. Grants of up to $7,500 are available to nonprofit organizations and public agencies for charitable purposes, including programmatic needs and operating expenses. 

Medford Fund grants are for beautification, streetscape improvements and other public amenities within the city limits of the Town of Waynesville, NC or its defined extra-territorial jurisdictions for the purpose of enhancing economic prosperity, a healthy community and the arts for public enjoyment. Grants of up to $18,580 are available and should support specific projects, initiatives or efforts rather than provide general operating support.

The Transylvania Endowment seeks to improve the quality of life in Transylvania County by supporting projects that benefit its communities and its residents.

Grants of $2,500 to $7,000 are available to nonprofit organizations and public agencies for charitable purposes, including programmatic needs and operating expenses. 

For the 2024-2025 grant cycle, WFW will invest in programs that increase economic stability for women and girls in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene. Proposals should address one of the following:

Access to safe, affordable housing

Access to quality, affordable childcare

Access to affordable, nutritious food

The Black Mountain-Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund seeks to inspire philanthropy and strengthen charitable organizations serving the Swannanoa Valley by making grants relating to health and wellness, education, cultural and natural resources, and human services. 

Grants of $2,500 to $10,000 are made for charitable purposes, including programmatic needs, equipment and technology, and capital needs. 

The Rutherford County Endowment seeks to benefit the broad community and its residents by promoting philanthropy and strengthening charitable organizations serving Rutherford County.

Grants of $2,500 to $10,000 will be made to nonprofit organizations and public agencies for charitable purposes, including programmatic and capital needs.

The Yancey Fund seeks to improve the quality of life in Yancey County by promoting charitable giving and supporting projects that benefit the communities and residents of Yancey County.

Grants of $2,500 to $10,000 are available to nonprofit organizations and public agencies for charitable purposes, including programmatic and capital needs, as well as equipment and technology. 

The Pigeon River Fund seeks to improve the streams and rivers of Haywood, Buncombe and Madison counties.  Grants of $5,000 to $35,000 are available for projects and activities that provide direct benefits in at least one of the following focus areas:

Improved surface water quality

Enhanced fish and wildlife management and habitats

Expanded public access

Increased citizens' awareness about their roles in protecting these resources.
